§ 10-2. Security fee for civil filing.

(a)

The Jefferson Parish Council hereby authorizes the judges of First and Second Parish Court of Jefferson Parish, pursuant to LSA-R.S. 13:2562.24, to impose a security fee not to exceed five dollars ($5.00) per civil filing and not to exceed five dollars ($5.00) per criminal filing in each proceeding where a fine is imposed or court costs are ordered to be paid for the purchase, maintenance, staffing and operation of court security devices; said security service fee to be in addition to other service charges mandated by said statute.

(b)

Any excess proceeds of the security service fee in any year may be expended in accordance with LSA-R.S. 13:2562.24.
