§ 13-8. Report of presence of portable electrical equipment.

  • (a)

    Definition. For the purpose of this section, portable electrical equipment shall be defined as any portable or mobile substations, transformers, switch houses mounted on skids, trailers, cars, and the like, as defined in the National Fire Prevention Association Pamphlet #70 (six hundred (600) volts or more).

    (b)

    Required. All parties owning and/or operating portable electrical equipment shall report the presence of such equipment to the department of emergency management within five (5) days of the equipment entering the parish.

    (c)

    Movement of equipment. If the portable equipment as defined above is moved from the original location, it shall be the responsibility of the owner and/or operator to notify the department of emergency management within five (5) days of the time the equipment is actually moved.

    (d)

    Penalties. Any owner and/or operator who willfully or negligently violates this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment for not more than thirty (30) days, or both. Each day on which the violation occurs shall be considered a separate offense.
