Under the authority of the Building Code of Jefferson Parish, the director of the
department of inspection and code enforcement is authorized to enforce the provisions
of the current adopted technical codes. No structure or land shall hereafter be constructed,
located, extended, converted, or altered without full compliance with the terms of
this chapter and other applicable regulations. The owner or general agent of the building
or premises where a violation of any regulation pertinent to the special flood hazard
areas has been committed or exists, or the general agent, architect, building contractor,
or any other person who assists in any violation of the pertinent flood regulations
or who maintains any building or premises in which the violation exists shall be punished
as provided in chapter 1, section 1-10, "Penalty: maximum: continuing violations" of this Code.
