§ 16-105. Transportation and disposal.

(a)

Medical wastes containing sharps transported from health care facilities shall be confined to sharps containers. This provision shall not apply to wastes described in section 16-106.

(b)

The disposal of medical wastes in any manner which may adversely affect public health and safety is prohibited. Disposal of medical wastes shall be accomplished at facilities authorized for such disposal by the state and/or the federal government.
