§ 17-92. Enforcement authority.

(a)

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office shall enforce the provisions of these regulations. In addition, designated enforcement employees of the fire department shall have the power to enforce the provisions of these regulations.

(b)

Any person who desires to register a complaint under these regulations may do so with the fire department.

(c)

The owner, manager, operator or other person having control of a public place, place of employment, or other establishment regulated under these regulations, shall inform, or shall designate an agent who shall be responsible for informing, individuals smoking in restricted areas that they are in violation of the law.

(d)

The fire department shall seek to obtain voluntary compliance with these regulations by means of publicity and education programs, and the issuance of warnings, where appropriate.
