§ 20-15. Interference with electric lines prohibited.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any confetti canister or otherwise throw or disburse any metallic confetti strands or any other metallic devices within two hundred (200) feet of any electrical distribution or transmission line. For the purposes of this section, a confetti canister, regardless of its brand name, shall be defined as an item which contains metallic confetti streamers or other metallic string-like substance that is expelled or discharged under pressure into the air.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully or maliciously tamper with any electrical distribution or transmission line or to otherwise damage or destroy any electrical transmission or distribution device in the parish. For the purposes of this section, tampering with an electrical distribution or transmission line shall include, but not be limited to, any action which creates a short circuit or otherwise disrupts electrical service furnished through said transmission or distribution line.
