§ 20-29. Interfering with activities at parks and playgrounds.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to interfere with any organized or sponsored activity conducted on any playground, park or public recreation facility in the Parish of Jefferson.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to interfere with the department of parks and recreation personnel in the performance or discharge of their duties.

    (c)

    For the purposes of this section, the following practices on any park, playground or public recreation facility shall also constitute a violation of this article:

    (1)

    Interfering with the practice or play of any organized sport or sponsored activity;

    (2)

    Unauthorized entry upon the area of team play or activity;

    (3)

    Throwing of objects on the area of team play or activity;

    (4)

    The use of any unauthorized sound device;

    (5)

    Engaging in any loud, boisterous, threatening, abusive, insulting or indecent language, including, but not limited to, cursing or threatening team members, coaches, referees or umpires;

    (6)

    Engaging in any disorderly conduct tending to breach the public peace and/or cause a disturbance on or around the area of team play or activity, including, but not limited to, public intoxication.

    (d)

    In addition to any penalties provided in section 20-32, any person violating this section is subject to being ejected from any park, playground or public recreation facility for a period of up to one (1) year.
