§ 20-46. Unauthorized entry into Courthouse annex building and stairways.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to enter or exit the stairways or stairwells of the parish Courthouse annex building, except in the case of emergencies.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person other than authorized personnel to enter or exit the parish Courthouse annex building in any location other than at the designated main entrance to the building located on the ground floor south side of the building.

    (c)

    Without constituting any limitation upon the provisions of subsection (a) and (b) the following acts shall be deemed included among those that constitute unauthorized entry in violation of this section:

    (1)

    The entering of or onto the Courthouse annex building, its stairways and stairwells without lawful authority and/or and remaining in or occupying of the Courthouse annex building, its stairways and stairwells in violation of any notice or sign posted or exhibited at the entrances to said premises its stairways and/or its stairwells or at any point of approach of entry, or in violation of any notice, warning or protest given orally or in writing by the lawful custodian of such facility or his designated representative, or any law enforcement or peace officer.

    (d)

    For the purposes of this section the sign or notices posted or exhibited shall be of sufficient size and placed at location where such signs may be reasonably expected to be seen. Each sign shall contain suitable language to indicate that unauthorized entry except in the case of emergencies is prohibited.

    (e)

    Any person violating any provision of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished as provided in section 1-10.
