§ 25-358. Same—Group B—Subject: Transportation linkages.
Group B—Subject: Transportation linkages.
(1)
Identify major transportation nodes (existing and future) with an emphasis on matching development to the capacity provided by existing and proposed changes to the transportation infrastructure.
(2)
Encourage pedestrian and vehicular connectivity between adjacent developments where practicable.
(3)
Improve basic visual and physical connections between transportation modes and developed areas.
(4)
Incorporate green space, landscaping and other aesthetic elements in pedestrian areas, medians and other transportation spaces where possible and practical.
(5)
Collaborate with employers to develop a transportation option, which identifies practical opportunities, and options for workplace transportation.
(6)
Adjust existing transit to provide services which help to manage and mitigate traffic congestion entering high-demand commercial and residential areas.
(7)
Provide reduced headways (less waiting time between transit buses) on higher demand services during peak periods.
(8)
Cluster freight movement facilities near ports, airports and rail terminals, where possible and practical.
(9)
Identify corridors for movement of trucks and heavy equipment between industrial areas, major highways and major transportation facilities (ports, airports, etc.) that minimize the intrusion of commercial traffic into primarily residential areas.
