§ 27-230. Program establishment; purpose.

Effective January 1, 1990, a round up for drug enforcement (RUDE) program is established for funding the drug enforcement efforts of the sheriff of the parish. This program is to be funded by voluntary contributions of parish water customers. Water bill customers, may, at their own discretion round up any or all water bills received by them to the next highest dollar amount and this rounded up amount shall be collected by the water department (or its agents) and forwarded regularly to the sheriff.
