§ 29-62. Street light standards.

  • (a)

    Aluminum. Street light standards shall be fabricated of a spun aluminum pole approximately twenty (20) feet in length with seven (7) inches diameter at bottom and four (4) inches diameter at top. The pole shall be furnished with a pole cap, anchor base bottom and a six-foot continuous rise single bracket for one and one-fourth (1¼) inches slip fitter mounting. No scroll brace or truss arm shall be used with the arm. The pole shall be designed for mounting on concrete base with anchor bolts. For locations where there exist similar light standards, standards shall match those existing in the street, upon approval by the department of inspection and code enforcement.

    (b)

    Concrete. Street light standards of concrete construction shall be designed to meet the requirements of Article 2307 of this code (N.E.C.) and shall have a Class "G" finish. Pole height shall be approximately twenty (20) feet, nine (9) inches above grade and pole shall have bottom diameter of eight (8) inches above base, top diameter of five and three-eights (5 3/8 ) inches at point of attachment of bracket; base of pole shall be of bolt down type for mounting on concrete base and shall have two and one-half-inch by eight-inch wiring hand hole. Standards shall be furnished with single six-foot continuous rise galvanized tubular bracket for one and one-fourth-inch slip fitter mounting. For locations where there exists similar light standards, standards shall match those existing in the street, upon approval by the department of inspection and code enforcement.
