§ 29-125. Notice to comply; effect of noncompliance.

  • The department of public works is hereby authorized to notify property owners within the unincorporated areas of the parish to remove from any and all parish rights-of-way obstructions and surfacing of any type on parish property and to further require the property owners who are adjacent to the parish roadways to comply with the requisites of section 29-121 and the promulgated descriptions and illustrations of various types and styles of entrances and exits; however, in no instance shall the parish deprive the property owners of ingress and egress during time of removal and construction of new entrances and exits; and the department is authorized to notify in writing all of the property owners who have in fact obstructed or improved parish rights-of-way adjacent to parish roadways to remove the obstruction and/or improvements to comply with the promulgated rules and regulations within a period of six (6) months from date of written notice and failing to comply with the notice, the department may proceed to cause the necessary work to be done and assess the cost thereof against the owner of the property.
