§ 2-17. Office of chief of staff to parish.

  • (a)

    Office created. The office of chief of staff of the parish council is hereby created and shall be vested with responsibility for the following:

    (1)

    Preparation and administration of the annual council office budget;

    (2)

    Custody of the personnel records for all council office, planning advisory board, and board of zoning adjustments employees, and administration of personnel related matters such as new employee processing, time and attendance reporting for payroll purposes, and authorizations for leave requests;

    (3)

    Direct supervision of the receptionists on the east and west banks, the staff of the planning advisory board and board of zoning adjustments, and any other council office staff not reporting directly to a council member, the parish clerk, or the research and budget analysis directors;

    (4)

    Preparation of an information handbook for use by council members;

    (5)

    Preparation of an annual council activities calendar, including key activities and anticipated major events to be prepared and distributed at the beginning of the year.

    (b)

    Responsibilities. The chief of staff of the parish council shall maintain responsibilities in assisting the council chairman and other council members.
