§ 2-38. Use of profanity in council meeting.

  • (a)

    Prohibited. It shall be unlawful for any person, including councilmen, directors, employees of the parish, or any other persons, to use any form of profanity at parish council meetings.

    (b)

    Definitions. "Profanity," as used in this section, refers to the use of any word, or words, commonly accepted as being profane including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: "son of a bitch"; "bastard," unless seriously using the word to reflect upon the legitimacy of the person described, or the four (4) letter word beginning with the letter "F" used to refer to sexual intercourse and any word or words derived from these words.

    (c)

    Violation and penalty. Any person convicted of a violation of any provision of this section shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00).
