§ 2-351. Duties of director.

  • The director of parkways shall:

    (1)

    Manage department operations in parkways by coordinating budget formulation and management activities with the advice and consent of the director of public works;

    (2)

    Prepare reports for the parish president and the director of public works on departmental operations evaluating performance against established objectives; on special problems; and on plans as required for review;

    (3)

    Direct administrative and field staff assigned to this department;

    (4)

    Formulate and evaluate operating policies, programs and procedures relating to beautification projects on public rights-of-way with the advice and consent of the director of public works;

    (5)

    Supervise maintenance operation on medians and other public property including street sweeping, grass cutting, gardening, litter removal and sign removals;

    (6)

    Set policy for the trim and removal of trees/stumps on parish rights-of-way.
