§ 2-486. Department and position of director created.

  • The department of citizens' affairs and the position of director of citizens' affairs are hereby created, which department and position shall have direct administrative supervision over all requests and complaints received by the parish council, parish president and/or any administrative department. Additionally, the department and position shall exercise direct administrative supervision and coordination of all activities relating to special events occurring in Jefferson Parish as exemplified by Carnival/Mardi Gras parades, St. Patrick's Day parades and Irish-Italian parades and administrative management of regulatory activities associated with all special events requiring permits in Jefferson Parish and the formulation and coordination of litter control measures and awareness campaigns in Jefferson Parish. Additionally, the department and position shall exercise administrative supervision and coordination of the office of senior citizens' services and all duties, responsibilities and activities related to citizens' with disabilities.
