§ 2-182. Qualifications, appointment and salary of director.

  • (a)

    The director of planning shall possess the following qualifications:

    (1)

    A master's degree in urban/regional planning, plus five (5) years' professional urban planning experience with supervisory responsibilities; or

    (2)

    A bachelor's degree in urban/regional planning, public administration, or a related field, plus seven (7) years of local government experience as an assistant city manager, department director, or assistant department director with supervisory responsibilities and comparable planning or development regulatory experience.

    (b)

    Salary. The salary of the director of planning shall be established by the parish president within the pay grade for the position as defined in the executive pay plan.
