§ 2-780.10. Qualifications and appointment of director.

  • (a)

    [ Qualifications. ] The director of juvenile services shall be qualified by education and training, possess a thorough knowledge of the juvenile justice system and relevant research in this field, demonstrate an ability to manage administrative operations and supervise staffs, have demonstrated skills in program development, have proven oral and written communication skills, demonstrate leadership ability, be familiar with operations of residential facilities, and be committed to treatment-oriented community-based programming for juvenile offenders. The director of juvenile services shall also have the requisite educational and work experiences.

    (b)

    Appointment. The director of juvenile services shall be appointed by the parish president with the approval of the parish council.

    (c)

    Salary. The salary of the director of juvenile services shall be established by the parish president within group II of the executive pay plan.
