Division 19.9. COMMUNITY JUSTICE AGENCY ADVISORY BOARD |
§ 2-780.14. Functions and duties.
The advisory board for the community justice agency shall have the following functions and duties:
(1)
Guide the development of a criminal justice master plan for Jefferson Parish which includes recommendations for new facilities, new programs; and new policies or practices;
(2)
Prioritize all recommendations in the master plan;
(3)
Coordinate all requests from criminal justice-related entities in the parish and prepare programmatic impact statements for any new;
(4)
Coordinate all agencies' operational budgets as they relate to the master plan;
(5)
Present the master plan to the parish council, along with recommendations about funding;
(6)
Advise the parish president on operations of the community justice agency;
(7)
Review applications for and recommend to the parish president candidates for the position of director of the community justice agency, director of adult supervision and corrections, director of administrative and planning services, and director of juvenile services;
(8)
Assist in coordination between the community justice agency and other criminal justice authorities in the parish; and
(9)
When it deems appropriate, to make recommendations to the parish council to call for revenue-raising elections.
The advisory board for the community justice agency shall rely upon the staff of the community justice agency in fulfilling its responsibility to develop a master plan, to prepare operational and programmatic impact statements, and to review and make recommendations about budgets and funding.
