Division 19. CRIMINAL JUSTICE COORDINATING COUNCIL |
§ 2-775. Functions and duties.
The criminal justice coordinating council shall have the following functions and duties:
(1)
The criminal justice coordinating council shall have no independent staff but shall have the authority to contract with the Parish of Jefferson to provide staff assistance necessary to carry out the purposes for which the criminal justice coordinating council was created;
(2)
To assist and advise units of local government and officers in the application and receipt of grants for the implementation of criminal justice programs. Such application of grant requests shall be consistent with the priorities expressed in the Parish Criminal Justice Master Plan;
(3)
Be designated by the Jefferson Parish Council to accept grants on behalf of the parish criminal justice system and to distribute funds received to the appropriate recipients.
