§ 2-547. Purpose.

  • The coastal zone management committee is established for the purpose of verifying additional information that must be added to the coastal zone management maps, acting as a communication center for public opinion, for technical information coming from several sources, for coordination with the parish council in identifying parish problems, for pointing out changes that need to be made in the state's program, for providing input into the parish's plan based on their level of expertise on the coastal zone, their knowledge of local people, needs and problems and for other inputs into the parish's coastal zone management program and into the state's coastal resources program.
