§ 2-877.2. Disclosure involving public officials.

  • (a)

    Any resolution or ordinance submitted for consideration by the council for any real estate transaction in accordance with section 2-877.1 shall, in addition to any other information required under this Code, include a full disclosure of any public official who is an owner or a party to the contract.

    (b)

    For the purposes of this section, the term "public official" shall mean any unclassified employee of the Parish of Jefferson and any appointed or elected official.

    (c)

    For the purposes of this section, any firm, partnership, corporation, joint venture or association which is owned in whole or part by a public official or in which an appointed or elected official has a pecuniary interest and/or is subject to the provisions of R.S. 38:2213, or is such an entity in which a public official exercises control, influence or otherwise has any economic or pecuniary interest, shall be included within the definition of the term "party" and/or "owner" for the purpose of disclosure.

    (d)

    For the purpose of this section the term "exercise control or influence" shall include any firm, partnership, corporation, joint venture or association which has a direct or indirect relationship or nexus with a "party" or "owner."

    (e)

    Any false or misleading information submitted to the parish council in connection with any lease, purchase, sale, exchange or permit, as provided for above, shall render any subsequent contract or agreement therefor null and void unless said contract or agreement is again ratified by the council after disclosure of the full and true information required by this section or after the council otherwise obtains said information.
