§ 2-895.5. Bidder lists.

  • (a)

    Purpose. Bidders' lists compiled by the purchasing department are intended to provide the parish with the names of businesses or vendors that may be interested in competing for various types of purchase orders and contracts. Inclusion of the name of a vendor or business on such list does not indicate whether the vendor or business is responsible in respect to a particular procurement or otherwise capable of successfully performing a contract.

    (b)

    Public availability. Names and addresses on general bidder lists shall be available for public inspection provided these lists shall not be used for promotional, commercial or marketing purposes; however, nothing herein shall be construed so as to require a lists of bidders or prospective bidders compiled for a specific proposal or specific invitation for bids be divulged to other bidders or prospective bidders or otherwise made available for public inspection prior to the bid opening; in such instances all bid documents shall be available for public inspection after bids have been opened and tabulated.

    (c)

    Removal of names. If a vendor or business on the bidders list does not respond to six (6) consecutive invitations for bids, its name may be removed from the bidders list.
