§ 33-1.4. Purpose.

In accordance with state law, and the parish's adopted comprehensive plan, the purpose of this UDC is to:

(1)

Promote public health, safety, comfort, order, and general welfare;

(2)

Achieve the goals, objectives, and policies of the comprehensive plan;

(3)

Protect or enhance property values parishwide;

(4)

Protect private property rights;

(5)

Promote safe, orderly development and use of land and natural resources; and

(6)

Facilitate safe and economical provision of adequate streets, water, wastewater, stormwater, schools, parks and other public facilities.
