§ 35-93. Attorneys to aid in collection; commission; duties and procedure.

  • The sheriff and ex officio tax collector of the parish is authorized to employ attorneys at law to assist in the collection of any delinquent licenses due under the provisions of this article. If any delinquent license is referred to an attorney at law for collection, the delinquent taxpayer owing the license shall pay a commission to the attorney of ten (10) percent, calculated upon the aggregate amount of the license plus any interest and other penalties that might be due thereon.
