§ 36-89. Areas where parking is prohibited.

  • (a)

    Authority. The department of public works, traffic engineering division, is hereby authorized to erect "No Parking" signs on any street or a portion of a street when the width of the roadway does not exceed twenty (20) feet or upon one (1) side of a street or a portion of a street as indicated by such signs when the width of the roadway does not exceed thirty (30) feet; and when signs are erected, no person shall park a vehicle upon any street in violation of any such sign.

    (b)

    Time for installation of signs. "No Parking" signs shall be installed on the above described streets only after complaints have been received and/or an investigation by the traffic engineering division shows that such parking interferes with traffic or creates a hazardous situation.

    (c)

    Penalties. Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be punished as set forth in section 1-10 of this Code.
