§ 36-148. Sale by sheriff's department.

Vehicles remaining unclaimed ten (10) days after proper notification of one of the registered owners or sixty (60) days after the vehicle is impounded, if the owner or owners are unknown, shall be sold by the sheriff's department after advertising in the parish journal three (3) times within thirty (30) days, and the net proceeds after the payment of advertising cost and sheriff's cost and fees, shall be paid into the parish general fund.
