§ 36-314. Suspension of enforcement during evacuations.

The enforcement of the provisions of this article is hereby suspended during any period of voluntary or mandatory evacuation called by the parish president in accordance with the provisions of section 9-9 of the Jefferson Parish Code of Ordinances and no citations shall be issued for any red light violation for which the sole evidence of the violation is the image or images captured by a red light camera if said violation occurs during the period beginning on the date and at the time of any voluntary or mandatory evacuation as declared by the parish president and ending on the date and at the time that all residents may return to Jefferson Parish following any such period of evacuation as declared by the parish president. Nothing in this section, however, shall prohibit the enforcement at any time of any duly enacted traffic laws or regulations by any duly registered and licensed officer of the law.
