§ 38-32. Zero-tolerance policy.

  • Every company shall establish and maintain a zero-tolerance policy on the use of drugs and/or alcohol by its drivers while providing VFH services. Immediately upon receiving a passenger-credible complaint regarding the use of drugs and/or alcohol by a driver, the respective company shall suspend the respective driver and conduct an investigation into the allegation. The suspension shall remain in place throughout the duration of the investigation. Within twenty-four (24) hours of any passenger-credible complaints lodged against any of its driver accused of violating its zero-tolerance policy, the respective company shall notify PMZ of any such complaints as well as the results of any such investigations. Any driver found to have violated the company's zero-tolerance policy shall be prohibited from engaging as a driver or operator within the Parish of Jefferson for a period of no less than one (1) year from the date of the violation.
