§ 6-73. Riders; requirements.

  • (a)

    Each individual float rider shall wear the provided safety device at all times during the parade where required.

    (b)

    Each float and truck-float shall have a lieutenant positioned in the first position of either side of the float or truck-float. This lieutenant shall have a sign to alert police and/or fire personnel in the event of an emergency.

    (c)

    The permitted parade organization must maintain the names and positions for all riders on each float or truck-float. The names and positions of the riders shall be made available to the office after request by the director, and after an incident that is the result of a criminal investigation or a violation of this chapter. Failure to provide the names and positions within forty-eight (48) hours of the request shall result in a Class II violation.

    (d)

    Riders shall maintain and remain in their assigned positions on the float or truck-float at all times during the conduct of the parade. If, for any reason, a rider has moved from his or her assigned position before or during the conduct of a parade, an updated list with such position changes must be made available to the director.

    (e)

    The krewe is ultimately responsible for the conduct of all riders in the krewe's parade as well as for the payment of all fines assessed against any of the krewe's riders for the violation of any of the provisions of this article.
