§ 6-79.1. Bead recycling vehicles.

  • (a)

    Each float parade organization shall in their parade be allowed no more than one (1) truck, trailer, or other vehicle to follow behind all floats and marching clubs in order to encourage parade spectators to toss unwanted beads or other parade throws into such vehicle, provided that said vehicle is:

    (1)

    Operated by a charitable organization that repackages, recycles, and/or resells parade throws to raise funds for the organization's charitable purposes;

    a.

    The name of the charitable organization shall be clearly marked on both sides of the vehicle as identification;

    (2)

    Large enough to hold any and all parade throws which may be recaptured from parade spectators; and

    (3)

    Equipped with a backstop or other structure that prevents beads or other parade throws from striking nearby parade participants, animals, vehicles, or parade spectators on the opposite side of the parade route.
