The purpose of this chapter is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb,
health, property, and public welfare in connection with the construction of all buildings,
structures, and certain equipment specifically regulated herein within the unincorporated
areas of the Parish of Jefferson, by providing for the administration and enforcement
of the State Uniform Construction Code, R.S. 40:1730.21 et seq., by providing for
regulations for matters not governed by the State Uniform Construction Code, and by
providing administrative procedures and regulations to more efficiently administer
and enforce the provisions of the State Uniform Construction Code and the other provisions
of this chapter.
