The purpose of this chapter is to provide minimum standards to safeguard the public
health, safety and general welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction,
materials, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of all buildings, structures,
and certain equipment (specifically regulated herein) on land or over water within
the boundaries of the unincorporated area of Jefferson Parish.
