§ 10-1. Service charge for civil court cases.
(a)
A service charge of seven dollars ($7.00) per case for each civil case filed in the First Parish Court for the Parish of Jefferson is hereby imposed, and will be paid to the clerk of the First Parish Court when the suit is filed.
(b)
In each criminal case in the First Parish Court where a fine is imposed or court costs are ordered to be paid, a service charge of seven dollars ($7.00) is to be collected by the parish sheriff's office,
(c)
The monies generated by the service charge will be forwarded by the sheriff or the clerk of court to the department of finance and will be placed in an account dedicated to the acquisition, construction and equipping a new First Parish Court facility until such time as the facility is paid for.
(d)
The service charge will go into effect January 1, 1979, and once the bonds are retired, the service charge will be cancelled, provided that at that time the courts are self sufficient.
