§ 15-4. Violations and penalties.

  • Any food service operator violating the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction for such offense before any court of competent jurisdiction of the parish, shall be fined not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than fifty dollars ($50.00), or be imprisoned for not more than twenty (20) days, or both, in the discretion of the court for the first offense; and for the second and each succeeding offense, he shall be fined not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) and not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) or be imprisoned for not less than twenty (20) days and not more than sixty (60) days, or suffer both fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court. Each day of unlawful operation shall be deemed an offense.
