§ 18-2. Civil fees.

  • The parish library director shall, with notice to the library board, prepare a plan of civil fees to be charged by the public library system of this parish. Such plans shall be submitted by the library director to the clerk of the parish council, together with a notice that the parish library board will meet on a specified date, time and place to hear any and all public comments with respect to the plan. Such meeting shall take place not sooner than seven (7) days nor more than forty (40) days from the date of receipt by the clerk of the parish council of the proposed plan. At least ten (10) days in advance, notice of the proposed plan and meeting of the library board to consider same shall be posted at reasonable locations throughout the library system. The proposed plan, together with any and all germane amendments approved by the library director after the public hearing, shall take effect on the approval of the library director on the sixtieth day after the receipt of the original proposal by the clerk of the parish council, or such later date as specified in the proposed plan. If germane amendments are approved, the final plan shall be submitted to the clerk of the council prior to its effect. Upon adoption, copies of the current fees in effect shall be available for inspection upon request at reasonable library locations.
