§ 25-348. Rail.
Moving cargo and people through the New Orleans area is an accomplishable feat because of the presence of an extensive railway system. Currently, there are six (6) railroads that converge upon the region and have lines and facilities in the parish:
• Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad;
• CSX Transportation;
• Illinois Central Railroad;
• Kansas City Southern;
• Norfolk Southern Corporation;
• Union Pacific.
There are no rail passenger facilities located in Jefferson Parish.
