§ 2-6. Parish emblem designated.

  • (a)

    The emblem for the Parish of Jefferson shall be a circular escutcheon with a light green field surrounded by two (2) circumferential rings, the inner one of gold and the outer of dark green, a gold and white depiction of a pelican in flight in the center, a dark green unfurled ribbon bearing the inscription "Jefferson Parish" surrounding the lower half of the circumference of the escutcheon, and the inscription "State of Louisiana" in the lower right quadrant on the light green field.

    (b)

    The parish emblem or a facsimile thereof may appear on the letterhead of parish stationery and other documents either published or sanctioned by the parish, and such use on all public and official documents is hereby authorized.

    (c)

    The parish emblem may be affixed to all parish vehicles or other equipment required by law to have an insignia affixed thereto.
