§ 2-888. Dedication of red light camera safety program revenues.

(a)

Jefferson Parish's portion of the revenues from the settlement of the matter entitled Redflex Traffic Systems, Inc. v. The Parish of Jefferson, 24th JDC, No. 689-431, Div. "J" regarding the Jefferson Parish Red Light Camera Safety Program shall be dedicated as follows:

(1)

One million dollars ($1,000,000.00) to East Jefferson General Hospital to offset operational deficits at the hospital;

(2)

One million dollars ($1,000,000.00) for settlement and final payment of any and all outstanding invoices from the finance department for East Jefferson General Hospital's pro rata share of the costs of the prison medical unit; and

(3)

One million dollars ($1,000,000.00) to coastal restoration and flood protection projects in Lafitte, Barataria, Crown Point and Grand Isle.

(b)

That no funds may be committed until all lawsuits involving the Jefferson Parish Red Light Camera Safety Program have been satisfactorily resolved.
