§ 31-1. Permit required for services of deputy sheriff for dances, fish fries, etc.

  • (a)

    Any person who conducts a public dance, fish fry or other public gathering, in the unincorporated areas of the parish who desires that a deputy sheriff or a special deputy sheriff be stationed on the premises during said public dance, fish fry or other public gathering, to maintain peace and order, may obtain the services of a deputy sheriff or special deputy sheriff by applying to the office of the sheriff of the parish for a permit for the station of the deputy or special deputy sheriff on the premises.

    (b)

    Any deputy sheriff or special deputy sheriff assigned to any detail pursuant to the provisions of this section shall remain on the premises where the dance, fish fry or other public gathering, is being conducted.
