§ 31-21. Police protection district no. 1.

(a)

Creation. There is hereby created a police protection district, which shall comprise and embrace all of that territory within the corporate limits of the Town of Lafitte, Louisiana, along with other areas, described as follows:

Beginning at the intersection of Bayou Barataria (Intracoastal Waterway) and the line separating Township 14 South, Range 24 East and Township 15 South, Range 24 East; thence in a southerly direction along said Bayou Barataria (Intracoastal Waterway); thence continuing in a southerly direction along the Jefferson-Plaquemines parish line as it departs from Bayou Barataria (Intracoastal Waterway) and continues in a southerly direction to its intersection with the line separating Township 19 South, Range 25 East and Township 20 South, Range 25 East; thence in a westerly direction along said township line to its intersection with the Lafourche-Jefferson parish boundary line; thence in a northerly direction along said Lafourche-Jefferson parish boundary line, as it meanders to its intersection with St. Charles-Jefferson parish boundary line; thence in a northerly direction along said St. Charles-Jefferson parish line to its intersection with the line separating Township 14 South, Range 23 East and Township 15 South, Range 23 East; thence in an easterly direction along said township line to its intersection with the Jefferson-Plaquemines parish line (Bayou Barataria), the point of beginning.

Less and except the following described property:

Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Bayou Barataria and the center line of Bayou Villars; thence in a westerly direction along said center line of Bayou Villars to its intersection with the east bank of Lake Salvador; thence in a northerly direction along said east bank of Lake Salvador to its intersection with the line separating Township 14 South, Range 23 East and Township 15 South, Range 23 East; thence in an easterly direction along said township line as it extends into Range 24 East to its intersection with the center line of Bayou Barataria (Intracoastal Waterway and Jefferson-Plaquemines parish boundary line); thence in a southerly direction along said center line of Bayou Barataria as it departs from the Jefferson-Plaquemines parish boundary line; thence in a southwesterly direction along said center line of Bayou Barataria Intracoastal Waterway) to its intersection with the center line of Bayou Villars, the point of beginning.

(b)

Official designation. The police protection district created by subsection (a) shall be known and designated as "Police Protection District No. 1 of the Parish of Jefferson, State of Louisiana."
