§ 36-269. Issuance.

  • (a)

    The license required in section 36-267 shall cover the period from January first to December thirty-first of each year, provided any permit acquired after July first, the cost thereof shall be one-half (½) of the yearly charge, and the sheriffs department upon receipt of proper application therefor, is authorized to issue a bicycle license.

    (b)

    The sheriffs department shall not issue a license for any bicycle when the deputy in charge knows or has reasonable ground to believe that the applicant is not the owner of or entitled to the possession of such bicycle.

    (c)

    The sheriffs department shall keep a record of the number of each license, the date issued, the name and address of the person to whom issued, and the number on the frame of the bicycle for which issued, and a record of all bicycle license fees collected by the department.
