§ 38-3. Unauthorized vehicles licensed elsewhere.

  • (a)

    Any person/business operating a vehicle that is not authorized to operate in the parish, or in any political subdivision thereof, shall not:

    (1)

    Stop or park anywhere on the parish's streets where such stopping or parking is now limited to vehicles authorized by PMZ;

    (2)

    Utilize PMZ-established VFH stands/zones without PMZ's consent;

    (3)

    Stop or park anywhere in unincorporated Jefferson Parish with intent to violate this chapter; or

    (4)

    Operate said vehicle in any manner contrary to the provisions of this Code or any state law.

    (b)

    Vehicles not authorized to operate in unincorporated Jefferson Parish, but authorized to operate in another jurisdiction, may transport individuals/deliveries from such other jurisdiction to a destination within or beyond unincorporated Jefferson Parish. However, no person/business operating such a vehicle shall accept compensation for delivery (or transport any individual for compensation) from any origin point within unincorporated Jefferson Parish to any other location, unless such person/business is performing services pursuant to an agreement with the parish or the Regional Transit Authority (RTA).
