§ 7-176. Definitions.

  • The following words and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them:

    Breeding shall mean the keeping of hogs on any premise for the purpose of procreation, production or the bearing of young.

    Built-up portion of the community shall mean any area two hundred (200) yards square which shall contain twenty (20) or more dwellings with people living in them.

    Maintenance means the support of any hogs on any premise for a period of more than twenty-four (24) hours.

    Premises shall mean the building and its adjuncts.

    Rearing shall mean the keeping of hogs on any premise for the purpose of bringing them up to natural maturity, sales maturity or maturity for utilization of the meat.

    To keep or keeping means to have the care of, to maintain, manage or to permit to remain on any premise for more than twenty-four (24) hours.
