§ 16-13. Penalties.

  • (a)

    In addition to penalties otherwise provided, a person found liable or convicted under any of the provisions of this article shall:

    (1)

    Repair or restore property damaged by or pay damages for any losses arising out of the unlawful dumping of litter or other violation of this article; and

    (2)

    Pay all reasonable investigative expenses and costs to the investigative agency or agencies which discovered and reported the unlawful dumping of litter or other violation of this article.

    (b)

    For the purposes of this article, including littering and all other provisions, each occurrence shall constitute a separate violation.

    (c)

    Any person violating any provision of this article, other than civil littering under section 16-9 of this article, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction may be punished as provided in section 1-10, unless specified otherwise in this article.
