§ 2-996. Eligibility.
(a)
In order for a widow to be eligible to obtain a widow's pension from the parish, her net income per month must not exceed three hundred fifty dollars ($350.00) if the widow is living in the home of a relative, four hundred dollars ($400.00) if the widow maintains her own residence, or if her social security allowance is her only source of income, and does not exceed four hundred twenty-five dollars ($425.00); no widows shall be added to the roster of the widow's pension after December 31, 1989.
(b)
All applicants must have at least three (3) years continuous residency in the parish prior to making application.

Ord. No. 17881, § 5, adopted November 29, 1989, which is set out herein as § 2-996 and prohibits any additional names from being added to the roster of qualified widows after December 31, 1989, also contained a clause which provided that the benefits of those persons who were on the roster as of December 31, 1989, would not be affected by the adoption of Ord. No. 17881.
