§ 36-96. Display of "for sale" signs.

  • (a)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle upon a public right-of-way, street or roadway which vehicle displays a "for sale" sign thereon.

    (b)

    It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle upon a privately owned parking lot, whether commercial or residentially zoned, which displays a "for sale," "for rent," or like sign thereon if said property is not a registered car lot, salvage yard, or like business.

    (c)

    A property owner may display a vehicle for sale on his/her property that is operated on a daily basis and which vehicle is registered to the address in which it is located and which does not remain unused or stored in a manner to purposely display said sign for a period of more than twenty-four (24) hours.

    (d)

    Any person who violates any provision of this section shall be punished as set forth in section 1-10 of this Code.
