§ 36-144. Sheriff to remove and impound vehicles.

(a)

The sheriff shall cause to be removed and impounded any unoccupied vehicle of whatever kind or description found to be in violation of R.S. 32:143A, section 13-23(f) of this Code, or article V of chapter 6 of this Code, or found parked or abandoned for a period of time in excess of forty-eight (48) consecutive hours.

(b)

Any vehicles removed shall be impounded at a place or places designated by the sheriff as approved by the director of inspection and code enforcement.
