§ 22-144. Penalties and enforcement.

  • (a)

    Any person or organization, solicitor or agent therefor who violates the provisions of this article shall be punished as set forth in section 1-10 of this Code.

    (b)

    Any person or organization, solicitor or agent therefor who violates the provisions of this article shall be subject to civil suit, pursuant to section 1-11 of this Code.

    (c)

    All funds unlawfully collected under these sections are subject to forfeiture, and, in addition to any other penalty or enforcement, any person or organization, solicitor or agent therefor who violates the provisions of this article may also be held personally responsible for all funds collected.

    (d)

    The sheriff, or any auditor employed by the sheriff or the parish, shall have the right to examine the books and records of any person or organization, solicitor or agent therefor, subject to the provisions of this article.
